Is a programme that's proven to make a difference to your employee's health

We've worked with doctors, scientists and academics to create Vitality, a programme that helps your employees live a healthier lifestyle. Together, we've identified lots of things they can do to get healthy. It's more than just general good advice, like eating greens and moving about more. It's about setting specific, achievable goals and rewarding them for getting there. We can prove that doing it this way really does make a difference to their health.

The Vitality programme can work for your employees in three simple ways:

1. Understand your health

Vitality is core to our member's health insurance cover. Every PruHealth member can use Vitality to live a healthier lifestyle. First, they complete a simple online Health Review. This shows them how healthy they already are and allows us to create a personal plan to help them get healthier.

2. We make it cheaper to get healthy

People tell us that one of the reasons they struggle to be healthy is the cost. Through our partners, they can get discounts on healthy things like gym membership, fitness equipment and bonus Nectar points on healthy food. All of this makes it easier and cheaper for them to get healthy.

3. We'll give members rewards that keep them motivated

Getting healthy still takes time and effort. So, to keep your employees motivated, we reward them when they make positive changes to their health. They can get discounts on things like concert tickets and Caribbean cruises. The healthier they get, the bigger the rewards.

With Vitality, as they get healthier, we give them a cash reward

The healthier your employees are, the less likely they are to make a claim. So it costs us less to look after them. We make sure you and your employees get the benefit of this. Every year, we look at the Vitality status each employee has reached. And after every three years, as long as the plan continues, we give them a cash reward - the higher their Vitality status has been, the more money we give them.
